CLEANER COAL COMMUNITIES COALITION

OUR MISSION

To ensure that transitioning coal communities are no worse off with the closure of coal facilities and are able to replace the coal generation and the lost tax-base with high-paying and highly skilled jobs so that coal communities have an opportunity to prosper, grow, and reimagine their local economies.

Keeping Communities Whole

Shuttering coal facilities doesn’t mean communities have to pay the economic costs. Investments in new technology that provide:

  • Clean energy

  • Quality jobs

  • Economic prosperity

  • Solid tax base

...are possible for a truly Just Transition!

As policy makers seek to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and demand for energy continues to grow, it is imperative that families, workers and communities truly benefit from the environmental and economic benefits that can result from a transition away from coal as a fuel source.

The Cleaner Coal Communities Coalition is committed to supporting a Just Transition that ensures communities will be no worse off and instead make a transition a net gain.
